This release is a collection of dark, noisy tonal experiments and long-form mood pieces made during 2001, and is not regarded as an 'official' album. Following on from 'experimentalspaceproject', many of the tracks on 'axis of symmetry' explore deeper abstract territories, whilst retaining the melancholic sensibilities of the previous albums. The 4-track tape recorder used for all Karina ESP recordings pre-2008 had deteriorated to such an extent that each track is swathed in muffled tape distortion.

Instruments/objects used: guitar, synthesizer, violin, cymbal, bass drum, wind chimes, delay pedal, multi-effects unit, sampler.

Improvised and recorded to tape on an old, broken 4-track recorder, released as a limited CDR on Audiolaceration. Full artwork included as part of the download.
